Dysport Aftercare

DYSPORT AFTERCARE

 Please follow the aftercare instructions to prevent loss of pigment, discoloration, or infection.

Pre-Treatment

1.       Avoid herbal supplements such as Ginkgo, green tea, and anti-inflammatories of any kind for 1 week before treatment in order to limit bruising

Post-Treatment

1.     Avoid herbal supplements such as Ginkgo, green tea, and anti-inflammatories of any kind for a week following treatment in order to limit bruising

2.     For the first 5-6 hours following Dysport, remain upright

3.     Do not participate in activities that include heavy lifting, vigorous exercise or straining for 4-5 hours (it takes ~2-3 hours for Dysport to bind to the nerve and you do not want to increase circulation during that time)

4.     Avoid irritating products (Retinols, Glycolics, acne medications, etc.) for 24 hours following Dysport

5.     Do not rub, touch, or manipulate Dysport

6.     It may take up to 10 days for Dysport to take full effect

7.     If your upper lip was treated you may not be able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks

8.     A follow-up visit at 2 weeks may be suggested to assess the results of your treatment, especially if you are a first-time client. If the desired correction is not achieved, you may consider the purchase of additional Dysport for injection

9.     Bruising in the area injected is normal although rarely occurs, especially if treated around the eyes. Bruising can last up to several days. Using/take Arnica may help diminish bruising. If persists, you may come in for a bruising treatment using our LaseMD technology (complimentary for our Dysport clients only)

10.    Expect treatment to last 3-6 months

11.    Regular injections usually yield a longer lasting Dysport results

12.    Although rare, infection in the injected area is possible. Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever. Should you develop an infection, antibiotics may be necessary
